Get more value out of your trade show or event investment by capturing the whole thing on video and putting together something you can use for years.
This is what the boys at RollHD put together to show you what the Event Video Advantage is all about. Take a look.
Trade Shows are a huge investment, and if you’re fortunate enough to get a whole lot of contacts and interest in your products or services, they are a valuable one as well. But, once that money is spent, wouldn’t it be great if you could recapture the energy of the event? Woulnd’t a great tool to have be some method of showing your products in their best light, and your people in their best position to represent your image? Well, we thought that would be a great thing too, right? So we offered to shoot your tradeshow, booth, event, conference, training, etc. Put it together in a nice way, and off you go. But a “one shot” deal can be pricey and tradeshow budgets are already pretty inflated, right? So, those of us here at RollHD put our heads together and this is what we figured out. It doesn’t take very long to shoot the content if it’s properly coordinated. I does require travel, equipment, lodging and manpower, but most of that can be shared! What if RollHD shot 8 clients in the same day, at the same event? Well that could certainly bring costs down. What about 10? OK - maybe that’s a litte high. But you can see where I’m going with this. We coordinate with a handful of you, hash out a schedule, come up with a concept and some guidlines, and now we can spread out those costs, making every small project far more affordable, without sacrificing the quality that can typically be somewhat expensive. One of the more difficult tasks to being a cutting edge company, is actually staying on the cutting edge. Technology changes often, improving sometimes in big ways that are obvious, and many time in small ways that are not so obvious, but equally, if not more so, important, if not critical.
One of the challenges we come across is keeping our equipment up to date. Cameras, audio equipment, lighting equipment, editing and publishing equipment all are equally important to providing our clients with the very best service we can offer them, and all at very affordable prices.
Recently we added a new camera to the arsenal. The Sony HVR-Z1U is a welcome addition to the RollHD family. Fantastic color representation and superior resolution and image processing caused HD Discovery network TV shows such as “Dirty Jobs” to use this camera as well.
So while we work hard to better prepare ourselves for the future, we are also teaching our clients how to better prepare for entering into the world of online video by providing scripting guidelines, budget tools and more.
A Colleague of mine forwarded some stats to me regarding the absolute aggressive takeover of online video, and these numbers are staggering.
…and this is why we do what we do.
(From a press release by ComScore.com, an internet stats and data interpreter)
More Than 10 Billion Videos Viewed Online in The U.S. in February. Jumps 66 Percent Versus Year Ago
Nearly 135 million U.S. Internet users spent an average of 204 minutes per person viewing online video in February. Google Sites also attracted the most viewers (81.8 million), where they spent an average of 109 minutes per person watching video in February. Fox Interactive attracted the second most viewers (55.7 million), followed by Yahoo! Sites (37.1 million) and Microsoft Sites (27.1 million). ABC.com attracted the tenth largest viewing audience, and its viewers exhibited heavy engagement averaging 51 minutes of online viewing per person.
Other notable findings from February 2008 include:
–72.8% of the total USInternet Audience viewed online video.
–80.4 million viewers watched 3.42 billion videos on YouTube.com (42.6 videos per viewer)
–50.2 Million viewers watches 539 million videos on MySpace.com (10.7 videos per viewer)
– The average online video duration was 2.7 minutes.
– The average online video viewer consumed 75 videos.
You can see clearly, and I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone, that the trends regarding online video that started back when YouTube and MySpace were first introduced have done nothing but accelerate at blazing speeds.
Obviously, if you aren’t getting on board, you’re getting left behind. Wow.
Today I shipped the first of the hard drives containing a selection of the video footage that we shot at EHX2008. I’m pretty excited to learn what EH has in store for post production, whether they decide to do some or all of it in house, or they decide to have us do the post production work for them. There is a tremendous amount of great footage that was captured at the show and I’m really looking forward to seeing the end results posted to their up and coming Electronic House Online Video Network player, provided to them by HDhomes.tv. That platform is so robust and so expandable that it just makes everyone’s life easier, using it. They can, and I believe that they plan to, upload raw content into a local intranet-only version of their player so that all of their advertising, marketing, web development, and executive staff can view and collaborate on what the final outcome of each of these great segments will be. This is an exciting step in the development of the Online Video Network that EH will deploy in the near future, and will make the interactive experience of the internet, that much more effective and enjoyable.
I applaud the team at Electronic House Publishing and their ongoing efforts to bring new and innovative technologies to the forefront, and I think that this venture has and will continue to prove that they are driven to adapt to the demands of todays internet audiences.
We at RollHD.tv look forward to continuing to provide great service to EH Publishing and all entities that realize the urgency to position themselves competitively in the race for dominance in the world of online video.
